Prize Rules & Regulations

  1. The Air Canada Vacations “Share Your Passion” contest is open to all Canadian residents, having attained the age of majority according to the law of the province in which they reside, except representatives, employees and agents of Air Canada Vacations, Air Canada and wholly and partially owned subsidiaries of ACE, the judges and persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled.
  2. The Air Canada Vacations “Share Your passion” contest commences at 8:00 a.m. ET on September 1, 2010 and closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on August 31, 2011 (the “Contest Period”). No purchase necessary.
  3. To enter Air Canada Vacations “Share Your Passion” contest, simply visit www.aircanadavacations.com/passions for details or directly the Air Canada Vacations blog: www.blog.aircanadavacations.com between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011 and share your travel passion through a short editorial story. The editorial provided should have up to 100 words, including title. Content should reflect your travel passion (eg: culture, scenery, food, festivals, culture, etc).  You will need to register as a user for the Air Canada Vacations blog in order to be able to share your story. Contest sponsor is Touram Limited Partnership (Air Canada Vacations).  Limit of one (1) unique entry per person per month per e-mail address during the Contest Period. Entries received shall be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g.) business, educational institution, etc. that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Illegible entries, text irrelevant to the contest theme, content considered mature/adult graphic, racist, violent, or prejudicial to Air Canada Vacations, bulk drop-off or mechanical reproductions or facsimile entries will be rejected. Rejected participations will be returned to the submitter with explanation. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to post online the submitted text in a period of maximum 24h from the moment the story was received, and only after it was determined as being an eligible entry.
  4. By entering the contest, entrants assign to Contest Sponsor all rights, title and interest (and waive their moral rights) in and to their respective editorial entry, including the qualifying editorial story, and grant the Sponsor the right to edit, copy and otherwise use, in whole or in part, the editorial short story to promote this contest, or for any other purpose, without notice or compensation. If the Editorial Story contains material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons names appear in the Editorial Story, the entrant is responsible for obtaining and all releases necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the Editorial Story as contemplated herein.  Entrants eligible to win Prizes (the “Prizes”) under this Contest may be required to sign a document to this effect before being declared a winner. All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor and will not be returned.
  5. To enter and be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Canada and over the age of 18.
  6. Thirteen (13) Prizes including one (1) Grand Prize to be given out; winners will be selected randomly. The Prizes consist of the following;

1st – 12th Prizes: each of the 12 prizes will consist of $1,000.00 CAD in travel gift certificates from Air Canada Vacations (which may be used by the Winner, subject to the terms and conditions set out herein, towards an Air Canada Vacations product to include airfare, accommodation and related services and fees (such as seat selection, departure taxes, in destination transfers from airport to hotel, and travel insurance incidental to, or forming part of, a travel package) of the Winner’s choosing, at any time, without expiration (the “Travel Certificate”); All requests for redemption of Travel Certificates must be made by the Winners and organized directly with Air Canada Vacations. Retail value of each Prize is of $1,000.00 CAD. Any expenses of the Winner and or his/her travelling companion/guest in excess of the $1,000.00 Travel Certificate are the sole responsibility of the Winner. There will be twelve (12) random draws to be made at 2700 Matheson Blvd. East, East Tower, 6th floor, Mississauga, Ontario L4W 4V9, on the following dates:

October 4, 2010 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from September 1, 2010 – September 30, 2010. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

November 4, 2010 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from October 1, 2010 – October 31, 2010. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

December 3, 2010 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from November 1, 2010 – November 30, 2010. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

January 5, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from December 1, 2010 – December 31, 2010. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

February 3, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from January 1, 2011 – January 31, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

March 3, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from February 1, 2011 – February 28, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

April 4, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from March 1, 2010 – March 31, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

May 3, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from April 1, 2011 – April 30, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

June 3, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from May 1, 2011 – May 31, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period

July 4, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from June 1, 2011 – June 30, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

August 3, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received from July 1, 2011 – July 31, 2011. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win one (1) $1,000 gift certificate. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period described above.

GRAND Prize: $10,000.00 CAD in travel gift certificates from Air Canada Vacations (which may be used by the Winner, subject to the terms and conditions set out herein), towards an Air Canada Vacations product to include airfare, accommodation and related services and fees (such as seat selection, departure taxes, in destination transfers from airport to hotel, and travel insurance incidental to, or forming part of, a travel package) of the Winner’s choosing, at any time, without expiration (the “Travel Certificate”); All requests for redemption of Travel Certificate must be made by the Winner and organized directly with Air Canada Vacations. Retail value of the Grand Prize is $10,000.00 CAD.  Any expenses of the Winner and or his/her travelling companion/guest in excess of the $10,000.00 Travel Certificate are the sole responsibility of the Winner. There will be one (1) random draw to be made at 2700 Matheson Blvd. East, East Tower, 6th floor, Mississauga, Ontario L4W 4V9, on September 15, 2011 at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET. The random draw will take place from all eligible on-line entries received during the entire Contest Period. The first (1) entry drawn will be eligible to win the prize. The odds of winning the Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

  1. Prize winner waives all recourse against Contest Sponsors if services offered do not prove to be entirely satisfactory.
  2. Contest Sponsors reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute the destination, or hotel, for a prize of equal or greater value if the grand prize as described cannot be awarded for any reason.
  3. The Contest Sponsors will attempt to contact the potential winner by telephone within four (4) business days after the draw. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, the potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question. Before being awarded the prize, the potential winner will be required to sign a declaration and release form stating that he/she has read, understood and complied with these official contest rules, grants all consents required as contemplated in these Contest Rules, authorizes the Contest Sponsors to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, address, photograph likeness and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for federal news, entertainment and information purposes at no compensation to the potential winner, accepts the prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsors from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this contest and receipt and use of the prize. In the event that the potential winner is not eligible, cannot be contacted by the Contest Sponsor within four (4) business days following the draw, does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question within the time limit, does not sign and return the release within the specified time, Contest Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify that potential winner and to draw an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this.
  4. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and local laws and regulations.
  5. Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution. Prize is not transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be sold, exchanged or bartered. Request for refund will not be entertained.
  6. Any dispute or claim relating to organization or conduct of this promotional contest by a resident of the Province of Quebec may be addressed to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec. A dispute relating to the attribution of the prize may also be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec who will limit its intervention to facilitating settlement between the parties.
  7. Contest Sponsor and the contest judging organization are not responsible for theft, loss of any form or any human or computer-generated error in the awarding of the prize, nor for the loss or misplacing of any control coupon.
  8. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including, but not limited to, errors in advertising, the official contest rules, the selection and announcement of winners, or the distribution of the prize.
  9. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems or servers, computer software problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website and assumes no liability for damage to entrant’s or any person’s computer resulting from participating in the Contest.

Terms and Conditions

In consideration of the awarding of the Prize to me following Verification, I hereby:

  1. accept the Prize and acknowledge that the Prize is as described in the Rules and Regulations;
  2. provide my information to Air Canada Vacations. The information provided will only be used to contact the winner.
  3. fully discharge and release Contest Sponsor, its affiliates (including Air Canada), franchisees and advertising and promotional agencies; their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents; and their respective heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, demands, payments, actions, or causes of action whatsoever for damages, loss or injury, howsoever arising as a result of my participating in the Contest and accepting the Prize which I or my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors or assigns may now or hereafter have against them or any of them;
  4. consent to the use of my name, address, comments and any photograph and/or any video image taken of me and/or the Prize by or on behalf Contest Sponsor and/or its affiliates and/or their advertising and promotional agencies without compensation or other liability to me or my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors or assigns; and
  5. make no warranty, guarantee or representation of any kind concerning the prize
  6. disclaim any implied warranty
  7. will direct Any questions, comments or complaints regarding this contest to Air Canada Vacations.
  8. I declare that:
    1. I have complied with, and will comply with all the Rules and Regulations of the Contest, and have answered the skill-testing question in the manner prescribed;
    2. I am an individual resident of the province indicated above and neither I nor any person with whom I reside is employed by Air Canada Vacations, Air Canada, and wholly and partially owned subsidiaries of ACE, the judges and persons with whom any of the aforementioned are domiciled or their respective affiliates, or any of their advertising or promotional agencies;
    3. the terms of the Rules and Regulations and this Release Form shall apply to and be binding on me and my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns.
